The whole project is divided into 10 subprojects. The expertise of the different partners can thus be combined in smaller work groups during the individual phases of the project and they can each concentrate on specific aspects of research and development. The integration of all partners and aspects is promoted in "horizontal" subprojects.

 

The following types of subprojects and work packages are to be differentiated:

• general project related issues: project management, project quality assurance, dissemination and exploitation
• horizontal aspects such as
•    medical specification and evaluation
•    technical, ergonomic and economic quality assurance
•    integration and standardisation
• generic technologies relevant for different modules of the OrthoMIT-platform
• integrated demonstrator modules for specific applicatios in hip, knee and spine surgery
